History
The station opened on 2 February 1930 as Yarigasaki Station (鑓ヶ崎駅) on the Taisha Line, operated today by the private Ichibata Electric Railway. It was renamed Hamayamakōen-Kitaguchi Station on 24 June 1977 to advertise its proximity to Shimane Prefectural Hamayama Park. On 1 April 2006 the line passed from Ichibata Electric Railway to a newly created subsidiary, Ichibata Densha. The unattended station sits 6.4 kilometres from the Taisha Line's opposing terminus at Kawato and consists of a single side platform serving one bi-directional track, with the entrance set near the western end of the platform.
