History
Takeshi Station opened on 29 April 1914 with the inauguration of the Kita-Matsue Line, on what is now Ichibata Electric Railway in the city of Izumo, Shimane Prefecture. It was closed on 17 January 1930 but reopened on 16 November 1931 and has remained in service since. The station was made unstaffed in 1977. With Ichibata Electric Railway's transition to a holding-company structure on 1 April 2006, operation passed to the newly created subsidiary Ichibata Densha. The unstaffed station consists of a single side platform with only a shelter — no station building — and lies 4.1 kilometres from the line terminus at Dentetsu-Izumoshi.

Notes
The station features in the 2010 Shochiku film "Railways," the same Ichibata-line drama whose scenes were also shot at neighbouring Kawato.
