History
Tampi Station is a Wakasa Railway stop on the Wakasa Line in the town of Yazu, Tottori Prefecture, 13.5 km from the line's terminus at Kōge. It opened on 1 December 1930 as part of the then-government Wakasa Line. A single ground-level side platform serves a bidirectional track, and the wooden station building dates from 1930 and is integrated with a beauty salon; ticket sales are outsourced to the salon, whose proprietor doubles as the station manager. Together with the 1930-vintage platform, the building was added to Japan's Registered Tangible Cultural Property list in 2008.
