History
Uminokōen-Shibaguchi Station opened on 5 July 1989 with the start of service on the Kanazawa Seaside Line between Shin-Sugita and Kanazawa-hakkei, in Kanazawa-ku, Yokohama. The elevated station consists of a single island platform serving two tracks, with a station building beneath the platform. The automatic ticket machines were renewed on 24 March 2005, and an elevator linking the concourse and the platform was installed on 7 September 2006. The station is unstaffed but is equipped with automatic ticket machines and automatic fare gates. Although ridership is among the lowest on the Kanazawa Seaside Line, traffic spikes sharply during the shellfish-gathering season and the Kanazawa fireworks display, both of which centre on the adjacent Umi-no-Kōen seaside park.

Notes
Although it is one of the quietest stations on the Kanazawa Seaside Line, the platform becomes one of the busiest on the network during the spring shellfish-gathering season at the adjacent Umi-no-Kōen beach.
