History

Kaimei Station opened on 4 August 1914 on the Meitetsu Bisai Line, in what is today the city of Ichinomiya, Aichi Prefecture. It served as the de facto representative station of the former Bisai City even though it was unstaffed throughout that period — the city centre at Okoshi-machi has only ever been served by bus connections. The station was de-staffed by 1 November 1948. Transpass arrived on 8 August 2007 with a new station building added to the project; the Manaca IC card became usable on 11 February 2011 and Transpass was withdrawn on 29 February 2012. Today's single ground-level side platform serves a lone bi-directional track between Nishi-Ichinomiya and Okuchō.
