History
Kataseyama Station opened on 1 July 1971 with the second-phase extension of the Shōnan Monorail Enoshima Line from Nishi-Kamakura to Shōnan-Enoshima. The station, 5.5 km from the northern terminus at Ōfuna, is unusual for the monorail in that its track sits very close to ground level, with only about ten steps from platform to street and a ramp for accessibility. The single side platform serves bidirectional traffic, and the station is unattended. PASMO compatibility was added on 1 April 2018 through simple readers.

Notes
From March 2021 through the end of that football season the platform name boards were rebranded "GET3-yama Station" in a collaboration with J-League club Shonan Bellmare — a play on "katase-yama" rendered as "kataseyama → win-3-points-yama."
