History

Sagami-Numata Station was officially opened on 15 October 1925 on the Izuhakone Railway's Daiyūzan Line, in what is now Minamiashigara, Kanagawa Prefecture. The current station building was completed in February 1981. The station consists of two opposing side platforms connected to a two-story station building by a footbridge. It is located 5.0 kilometres from the line's terminus at Odawara Station, with the city boundary between Odawara and Minamiashigara passing through the station site even though the station building itself stands within Minamiashigara. Prefectural Road 74 runs along the west side and the Karikawa River on the east; the surrounding area is residential.
