History
Shiromigaoka Station opened on 9 August 2008 on the Isumi Railway Company's Isumi Line, in Ōtaki, Chiba Prefecture, 14.7 kilometres from the eastern terminus at Ōhara. The new station was built in conjunction with the development of the Ōtaki Shopping Plaza Olive, a large shopping centre on National Route 297 on the outskirts of Ōtaki town; the shopping centre is about a five-minute walk away. Planning began on 8 February 2008 when the new station was announced, and on 8 March the name Shiromigaoka was confirmed, chosen because Ōtaki Castle, the town's symbol, is visible from the platform. The station has a single 45-metre side platform with a three-sided rain shelter.
