History

Anabe Station opened on 15 October 1925 with the inauguration of the Daiyūzan Railway (now the Izuhakone Railway Daiyūzan Line) in the city of Odawara, Kanagawa Prefecture. The line's track had been completed in time for the opening, but the station's facilities were still under construction, so revenue service from Anabe did not actually begin until 31 March 1926. The single side platform sits south of the track and is accessed by stairs at the Iidaoka end. A small two-storey station building is attached to the platform canopy; the station is unstaffed but equipped with an automatic ticket machine and a boarding-pass dispenser. Anabe is 3.1 kilometres from the line's terminus at Odawara.

Notes

Although the Daiyūzan Line track was finished in time for the railway's October 1925 opening, Anabe Station's own facilities were not ready, so trains skipped it for five months.
