History
Fujioka Station opened on 1944-08-01 on the Gotemba Line to provide access to the Imperial Japanese Army's Fujioka Heavy Artillery School, and was initially restricted to military personnel; civilian use began on 1944-11-11. The station originally sat on a switchback, which was eliminated when the line was electrified in 1968 and the platform realigned, leaving a vestigial side track as evidence. The original side platform was rebuilt as an island platform in 1989. JR Central inherited the station from JNR on 1987-04-01, and station number CB12 was assigned in March 2018.
