History
Kami-Gōra Station opened on 1921-12-01 with the inauguration of the Hakone Tozan Cable Car Line, originally named Sōunkan Station after a nearby inn. It assumed its present name in 1951. The unstaffed station has opposed side platforms either side of the single funicular track, 0.96 km from the Gōra terminus. Operation passed to Odakyu Hakone on 2024-04-01 as part of an Odakyu Group restructure of its Hakone-area businesses.

Notes
Original name Sōunkan came from a long-vanished inn rather than a landmark or village; the present name was adopted in 1951.
