History

Setoguchi Station opened on 31 January 1988, the day the third-sector Aichi Loop Railway took over and through-connected the former JNR Okatetsu Line, completing the loop between Okazaki and Kōzōji via Shin-Toyota. Located in Seto, Aichi Prefecture, the station consists of two elevated opposed side platforms above a staffed station building equipped with automated ticket machines and TOICA turnstiles. Direct services to Nagoya via the Chūō Main Line began in October 2005, and TOICA card use was introduced in March 2019. In fiscal 2017 the station averaged about 4,085 passengers daily.
