History
Kamiya Station opened on 20 January 1953 as a stop on the Gakunan Railway Line in the city of Fuji, Shizuoka Prefecture. It sits 8.2 km from the line's terminus at Yoshiwara and is served by a single bidirectional track flanked by one side platform. The station has no building and is unattended. In 2002 the platform was rebuilt with a sloped approach to provide barrier-free access for passengers using wheelchairs or other mobility aids. The original Gakunan Railway operator was succeeded by Gakunan Electric Train, which continues to run the line today.
