History
Higashiyama Kōen Station opened on 1 April 1963 as an underground stop on the Nagoya Municipal Subway's Higashiyama Line, located in Chikusa-ku and 15.1 km from the line's western terminus at Takabata. The station was assigned station number H17. Powered automatic ticket gates compatible with the local Manaca smart card replaced the legacy fare gates on 11 February 2011. The station serves Higashiyama Park, from which it takes its name, and uses a single underground island platform. It remains an intermediate stop on the Higashiyama Line, the original line of the Nagoya Municipal Subway network.
