History

Nagaizumi-Nameri Station opened as an infill station on the JR Central Gotemba Line on 7 September 2002, timed with the inauguration of the Shizuoka Cancer Center next to the tracks. Local promotion of a new station between Susono and Shimotogari had begun in 1988, and once the Cancer Center was approved in 1996 the project moved quickly: the name was finalised on 26 February 2002, and a regular bus link to the hospital opened with the station. TOICA support began on 13 March 2010, and station number CB15 was assigned in March 2018. The single side platform is fully step-free in keeping with the hospital catchment.

Notes

The station's name reads "Nameri" from the local place-name 納米里 (Nameri), and the stop primarily serves the adjacent Shizuoka Cancer Center via dedicated bus services that opened on the same day as the station.
