History

Miyoshigaoka Station (TT 03) is on the Meitetsu Toyota Line in Miyoshi-ga-oka 2-chōme, Miyoshi, Aichi. The planned name had been 'Ukigai Station', but it opened on 29 July 1979 as Miyoshigaoka — initially as an unstaffed station. As ridership rose, a station building was added with permanent staff on 16 April 1994. The 'Transpass' IC-ticket system was introduced via centralised remote control on 1 October 2003 and discontinued on 29 February 2012 with the introduction of 'manaca' on 11 February 2011. Barrier-free works wrapped up on 16 March 2007 with three Mitsubishi wheelchair-accessible elevators and an ostomate-equipped toilet. The station was re-unstaffed all day from 1 March 2022, controlled remotely from Toyota City Station. Two opposed side elevated platforms; a non-electrified siding on the Toyota City side stores maintenance vehicles.

Notes

Miyoshigaoka serves as the access station for two universities and a nursing college — Aichi Gakusen University, Tōkai Gakuen University and the Japan Red Cross Toyota Nursing University — all of which run dedicated shuttle buses from the station forecourt.
