History
Hara Station (station number T18) opened on 1 October 1978 on the Nagoya Municipal Subway Tsurumai Line, in Hara 1-chome, Tempaku-ku, Nagoya. Its working name during planning was Hirabari-Hara. Elevators and escalators were installed on 1 April 1997 when the adjoining Hara Terminal Building was completed, and platform screen doors entered service on 9 March 2026.

On manaca usage histories Hara is shown as "市地・原" to distinguish it from JR Central's Hara Station on the Tōkaidō Main Line in Numazu, Shizuoka, which appears simply as "原".
