History
Mishima-Tamachi Station opened on May 20, 1898 as Mishima-machi Station, the temporary terminus of the line extended north from Nanjō (now Izu-Nagaoka). It became an intermediate station on June 15 of the same year when the line reached the original Mishima Station (today's Shimo-Togari on the Gotemba Line). The line was electrified on May 25, 1919, and the northern terminus was relocated to the present-day Mishima Station in 1934. The station took its current name on February 1, 1956, and was rebuilt as an integrated station building in April 1967. Freight handling ended in 1964 and parcel service in 1973. From March 18, 2023 the station became unattended.
