History

Arakogawa-kōen Station opened on 6 October 2004 with the rest of the Aonami Line, a third-sector commuter route in Nagoya's Minato Ward operated by Nagoya Rinkai Rapid Transit. Trial rides for residents of lineside districts and Nagoya citizens were held on 20 and 25 September of that year ahead of opening. The elevated station has two side platforms protected by movable platform-edge barriers, with elevators on each platform for step-free access. Routine staffing was withdrawn from 1 September 2022, after which Nakajima Station took on remote management of the station.

Notes

The station is named for adjacent Arakogawa Park, which is celebrated locally for its lavender plantings and cherry trees.
