History
Harima Station opened on 29 December 1939 as a station on the Yōrō Railway, in what is now the city of Kuwana in Mie Prefecture. The Yōrō Railway merged with the Sangu Electric Railway on 1 August 1940 and, through a chain of wartime consolidations, became part of the Kansai Express Railway on 1 June 1944. After several postwar reorganisations the original Yōrō Railway name was reinstated on 1 October 2007, when the line was spun off from Kintetsu into the present third-sector Yōrō Railway company. The station is 1.6 kilometres from the line's terminus at Kuwana, has a single side platform with no station building, and is unattended.
