History
Umamichi Station is a two-platform stop on the Sangi Railway Hokusei Line in Kuwana, Mie Prefecture, 1.1 km from the line's terminus at Nishi-Kuwana (station number H02). It opened on 1914-04-05 as a Hokusei Railway station, became Hokusei Electric Railway on 1934-06-27, and through wartime and postwar consolidations joined Kintetsu by 1965-04-01. Season-ticket sales were withdrawn in 1979 and the station was destaffed on 2000-03-01, with the old level-crossing footway and pit toilet demolished. After the line was transferred to Sangi Railway on 2003-04-01, the station building was refurbished on 2005-09-01 with automated ticketing remotely supervised from Tōin, and a flush toilet was added on the down platform in 2006-03-21.

Notes
The two platforms have separate, non-connected access: the down platform reaches the station building directly, while the up platform can only be reached from a public road via the level crossing next to the station.
