History

Asahi Ōtsuka Station opened on 16 October 1916 on what is now the Ohmi Railway Main Line, in present-day Higashiōmi City in Shiga Prefecture. The station has been continuously operated by the private Ohmi Railway since opening. It carries the station number OR30 and consists of a single side platform with no station building, only a shelter on the platform itself, and remains unattended. The line through the station is also signed as the Mizuguchi/Gamōno Line within the Ohmi Railway's branding.
