History
Kinjō-futō Station opened on 6 October 2004 as the terminus of the Aonami Line, on the reclaimed Kinjō Wharf in Nagoya Port. Trial rides for residents and citizens were held on 20 and 25 September of that year before the line opened. The elevated station has a single island platform and is unique on the Aonami Line in being fitted with full-height platform screen doors, a concession to its coastal exposure and wind. As the line's managing station it also oversees nearby Noseki Station. Passenger numbers rose sharply after the SCMaglev and Railway Park opened in 2011 and Legoland Japan in 2017, were heavily reduced during the pandemic, and have rebounded since the 2022 opening of the new Portmesse Nagoya exhibition hall.

Notes
Kinjō-futō is the only station on the Aonami Line equipped with full-screen platform doors, installed as a wind-protection measure given its waterfront location.
