History
Takemura Station opened on 5 July 1920 as a stop on the privately owned Mikawa Railway, serving the city of Toyota in Aichi Prefecture. The Mikawa Railway was absorbed into Meitetsu (Nagoya Railroad) on 1 June 1941, after which the station has continued in operation on what is now the Meitetsu Mikawa Line. Located 8.5 kilometres from the line's terminus at Chiryū, the station consists of a single island platform connected to the station building by a level crossing. It is equipped with automated ticket machines and Manaca turnstiles, but is unstaffed.
