History
Chayama·Kyōto-Geijutsudaigaku Station opened on 27 September 1925 as Chayama Station, a stop on the Eizan Heitan Line then operated by Kyoto Dentō (Kyoto Electric Light). The line passed to Keifuku Electric Railroad on 2 March 1942 and to the present operator, Eizan Electric Railway, on 1 April 1986. The station is located in Sakyō-ku, Kyoto, and assigned station number E03. It took its current compound name on 1 April 2023, reflecting the nearby Kyoto University of the Arts. Barrier-free improvements including platform ramps and raised platform surfaces were completed on 2 November 2023.
