History
Mimasaka-Ochiai Station serves the city of Maniwa in Okayama Prefecture and lies on the Kishin Line, 110.9 km from the southern terminus at Himeji. It opened on 1 May 1924 when the Sakubi Line, the predecessor of the Kishin Line, was extended between Mimasaka-Oiwake and Kuse. After successive line renamings in 1929, 1930 and 1936 produced today's Kishin Line, the station passed to JR West with the 1987 JNR privatization. The current station building was completed in May 2005.
