Station

Rokuoin

鹿王院

History

Rokuōin Station opened on 27 November 1956, well after the Keifuku Electric Railroad (Randen) Arashiyama Main Line itself, and was added in response to the construction of a Japan Housing Corporation estate in the area. Because the stop was inserted between existing stations, the distances to its neighbours on either side are unusually short. The station has two opposed ground-level platforms with stair access to the level crossing on the east side of the precinct.

Notes

The Arashiyama-bound platform is unusually narrow — the only seating is a pair of single plastic chairs whose backrests have been trimmed so that they do not encroach on the walking width in front of them.
