History
Takayokosuka Station opened on April 1, 1932 as a stop on the Chita Railway in what is now Tōkai City, Aichi Prefecture. The Chita Railway became part of the Meitetsu group on February 2, 1943, placing the station on the present-day Meitetsu Kōwa Line at 1.3 kilometers from the line origin at Ōtagawa. The station has been unattended since 1949. In July 2006 the Tranpass system of magnetic fare cards with automatic turnstiles was implemented. The station today has two opposed elevated side platforms with the station building underneath and is served by Manaca-compatible automated turnstiles.
