History
Keage Station is an underground Kyoto Municipal Subway Tōzai Line station in Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto, and the closest subway access for Eikan-dō Zenrin-ji and Nanzen-ji. It opened on 12 October 1997 with the inauguration of the Tōzai Line between Daigo and Nijō stations, taking over the role of the former at-grade Keage Station on the Keihan Keishin Line, which had served the area since 15 August 1912 and stood on the opposite side of the road junction. The station carries the number T09 and is signed in violet as its assigned station colour. PiTaPa IC card acceptance began on 1 April 2007, and the entrances were finished in brick-style tiling to harmonise with the surrounding scenic-area regulations.

Notes
A single crossover lies just east of the platforms toward Misasagi; when Misasagi Station flooded in August 2021, Tōzai Line trains shuttled back and forth between Uzumasa-Tenjingawa and Keage using exactly this crossover.
