History
Ken-Sōgō Undōjō Station opened on 9 December 1908 as Undōjō-mae on the Shizuoka Railway Shizuoka–Shimizu Line, in present-day Suruga Ward, Shizuoka. It was renamed Ken-Sōgō Undōjō on 1 November 1990 as the building was reconstructed ahead of the 1991 National High School Athletic Meet held at the adjacent prefectural Kusanagi Sports Complex. The reconstructed station building, incorporating a small commercial block, was completed on 28 June 1991. From 1 October 2011 the official English name was adopted as Pref. Sports Park, and short-turn weekday morning services between Shin-Shizuoka and this station were introduced. With the timetable revision of 29 March 2025, the station regained express status as part of the line's reinstated express and commuter express patterns.

Notes
The station is unique on the Shizuoka–Shimizu Line in offering two island platforms and four tracks, the only place on the line where trains can be overtaken or pass each other.
