History
Daigo Station opened on 12 October 1997 as the terminus of the new Kyoto Municipal Subway Tōzai Line, then a Nijō-to-Daigo segment. It lost terminus status on 26 November 2004 when the line was extended south-east to Rokujizō, and the commuter-pass office that had operated here was transferred to the new Rokujizō Station the day before. PiTaPa IC cards became usable on 1 April 2007. The platform is a single island with screen doors, and the station shares a structure with the Paseo Daigorō mixed-use complex that houses the Daigo Central Library and the line's Daigo depot.
