History
Minami-Hinaga Station opened on 10 January 1922 as a stop on the Mie Railway when the line between Hinaga and Oguso was completed. Through wartime consolidation it passed to Sanco on 11 February 1944, to the Mie Electric Railway in February 1964 by spin-off of the rail division, and to Kintetsu through merger on 1 April 1965. Daily staffing was gradually withdrawn from around 1994, and the station was made fully unstaffed on 1 April 1998. The Utsube Line and the station building's ownership were transferred to the Yokkaichi Asunarō Railway and the city of Yokkaichi respectively on 1 April 2015. ICOCA acceptance began on 21 August 2021.
