History
Kabaike Station opened on 19 June 1913 on the Aichi Electric Railway, joining the Meitetsu group with the 1 August 1935 merger that formed the present company. The stop was made unstaffed on 16 February 1968. In December 2004 the platforms were extended to six cars, a new footbridge was added, and centralised management took over; from January 2005 most rush-hour express stops were dropped, with one morning down express still calling daily to ferry students to nearby Tokoname High School. The Tranpass magnetic-card system gave way to Manaca on 11 February 2011.

Notes
A single morning down express still skips its express timetable to call here — kept on the books purely to drop students at nearby Tokoname High School.
