History
Chokushi Station is a passenger halt on the Shigaraki Line in Koka, Shiga Prefecture, 12.4 kilometres from the line's starting point at Kibukawa. It opened on 1 June 1963 as a Japanese National Railways station on what was then the Shigaraki Line. At privatisation on 1 April 1987 the station briefly passed to JR West, but only a few months later, on 13 July 1987, the line was transferred to the newly established third-sector Shigaraki Kohgen Railway. The station retains a single side platform serving a single bi-directional track. There is no station building, only a public toilet stands in the small plaza in front, and the stop has always been unattended.
