History
Narawa Station opened on 1 April 1931 as the terminus of the Chita Railway, in present-day Handa City, Aichi Prefecture, becoming a through station the following year when the line was extended further south. The Chita Railway was absorbed into Meitetsu in February 1943, the station was suspended in 1944, and operations resumed on 15 September 1946. Centralised station management arrived on 27 February 2007 and Tranpass on 14 March, accompanied by destaffing; ticket verification was added in June 2008. IC card travel using manaca began on 11 February 2011 and Tranpass service ended in February 2012. The station has two opposed six-car platforms, with manaca-capable gates but ticket machines outside the fare area that do not accept the IC card.

Notes
In earlier eight-car operation the platform was too short, so trains performed door-cutting at this stop; no eight-car trains now serve the station and the workaround is no longer needed.
