History

Bingo-Mikkaichi Station opened on 25 April 1930 as Mikkaichi Stop on the privately-built Geibi Railway. The Geibi Railway was nationalised on 1 June 1933, at which point the stop was promoted to a full station and renamed Bingo-Mikkaichi to distinguish it from other Mikkaichi stations. It became part of the Sankami Line in 1936 and the Geibi Line in 1937. With the privatisation of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987 it passed to JR West. The unattended ground-level station has a single side platform and only a small waiting room; although the track is level, the platform sits well above the small surrounding hamlet.

In fiscal 2019, the JR-West passenger report recorded an average of just one boarding per day at Bingo-Mikkaichi.
