History
Kami-Yokosuka Station opened on 5 August 1915 with the Nishio Railway's extension between the former Yokosukaguchi Station and Kira-Yoshida, in present-day Nishio City, Aichi Prefecture. It became an Aichi Electric Railway station by merger on 1 December 1926 and joined Nagoya Railroad in 1935 through the formation of Meitetsu. The station building was damaged in the 1945 Mikawa earthquake and rebuilt on 10 June 1959. Freight handling ended on 1 July 1964 and staffing was withdrawn on 1 September 1988. From 29 January 2005 all trains began stopping here, and a centralised station management system together with Tranpass was introduced on 29 June 2008. IC card travel using manaca followed on 11 February 2011, and limited-express service to the station resumed on 18 March 2023.
