History
Tokohadaigakumae Station opened on 13 March 1988 as Hamamatsu Daigakumae Station on the newly-inaugurated Tenryū Hamanako Railroad, a third-sector successor to the Japanese National Railways Futamata Line. It was renamed Tokohadaigakumae on 1 April 2013 to reflect the renaming of Hamamatsu University. The station sits in Miyakoda, Hamana-ku, Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture, 39.1 km from Kakegawa along the Tenryū Hamanako Line. It has a single side platform serving one bi-directional track and is unstaffed, with no toilet on the premises. The Tokoha University Hamamatsu campus is visible from the platform some 500 m away.
