History
Katase-Shirata Station opened on 10 December 1961 as a station on the privately owned Izu Kyūkō Line in the town of Higashiizu, Shizuoka Prefecture. The station is 26.1 kilometers from the official starting point of the line at Itō and 43.0 kilometers from Atami. It is staffed and consists of two elevated opposing side platforms on an embankment, connected by an in-station level crossing, with the station building set at a lower level to one side.
