History
Sawaragi Station opened on 22 August 1997 when the Osaka Monorail Main Line was extended from Minami-Ibaraki through to Kadoma-shi. Platform screen doors were brought into service on 30 July 2022. The station, on the western edge of Ibaraki near the Settsu city boundary, sits alongside the Osaka Central Loop Expressway and is the least-used stop on the Main Line, though it remains busier than the spur-line Settsu Station.
