History
Nishi-Hazu Station opened on 24 July 1936 on the Mikawa Railway alignment that became part of Meitetsu's Gamagōri Line. Freight handling ended in fiscal 1964 and the station was unstaffed from 1 June 1998. Until 28 January 2005 it was a stop for limited-express and express trains. The original station building survived until October 2021, when the city of Nishio dismantled it; a small waiting shelter took its place in March 2024. Manaca cards are not accepted here.

Notes
When the historic station building was finally demolished in 2021, the city of Nishio held a public farewell event for it before tearing it down.
