History

Ikoinohiroba Station opened on 13 March 1988 as a station on the third-sector Tenryu Hamanako Line in Kakegawa, Shizuoka Prefecture. The station is 5.5 kilometres by rail from the line terminus at Kakegawa, and sits next to a residential area and several local works. It is unstaffed and has a single ground-level side platform on the east side of the track, with a small wooden waiting room. Although no permanent staff are posted, temporary staffing is arranged when the Shizuoka prefectural qualifying rounds of the National High School Baseball Championship are held at the nearby Kakegawa Municipal Baseball Field.

Notes

Although the station is permanently unstaffed, temporary clerks are dispatched whenever a high-school baseball tournament is held at the Kakegawa Municipal Baseball Field a few minutes' walk away.
