History
Izu-Inatori Station opened on 10 December 1961 as part of the Izu Kyūkō Line. The station has two opposed ground-level side platforms; the freight siding behind Track 1 once held a withdrawn 100-series saSHI 191-form dining car (later converted back into an ordinary coach) before being repurposed as a maintenance-equipment depot. In 2025 Izu Kyūkō signed a naming-rights agreement with the Inatori Onsen Ryokan Cooperative Association, adopting "Kinmedai to Hina no Tsurushikazari no Furusato" ("Home of Tilefish and Hanging Hina Decorations") as the station's sub-name, with the unveiling ceremony at the station-front plaza on 13 September.

Notes
Since January 2021 the up-direction platform (Track 2) has displayed a rotating exhibit of spray-can art created by guests of MBS-TBS variety programme "Pre Bato!!" — the works are installed for an indefinite period as part of the show's craft-segment promotion.
