History
Hirono Golf-jō-mae Station opened on 28 December 1936 as the original terminus of the Sanki Electric Railway between Suzurandai and Hirono Golf-jō-mae, in what is now Miki, Hyōgo Prefecture. The line was extended past it in December 1937, demoting the station to an intermediate stop. It was renamed Hirono Shinkai (広野新開) on 22 December 1942 amid wartime restrictions on commercial names and reverted to its original name on 1 April 1951. The platform was rebuilt as a passing loop with a single island in October 1984, and the station was destaffed in April 2000. It now sits on the Kobe Electric Railway Ao Line as station KB49.

Notes
During the initial months of the line's operation the local Geibi Railway lent steam locomotives and gasoline cars to cover for incomplete electrification works, which were completed by April 1937.
