History

Bizen-Fukukawa Station opened on 1 March 1955 as a Japanese National Railways station on the newly built Ako Line. Despite being named after the Bizen district historically associated with Okayama Prefecture, the village around the station was transferred to Hyogo Prefecture, and the station now lies within the city of Ako, Hyogo Prefecture. With the 1987 privatisation of JNR the station came under JR West. The station is 16.4 kilometres from the line's terminus at Aioi and 5.9 kilometres from Banshu-Ako. It has a single side platform serving one track at ground level. In fiscal 2019 it averaged about 30 boardings per day, reflecting the station's small, predominantly residential catchment.

Notes

The station's name retains the old Bizen Province prefix even though the surrounding village was administratively transferred from Okayama to Hyogo Prefecture before the station opened.
