History

Moriguchi Station opened on 6 April 1977 as the temporary northern terminus of the Osaka Municipal Subway Tanimachi Line, serving the city of Moriguchi in Osaka Prefecture. It became an intermediate station on 8 February 1983 when the line was extended one stop further north to Dainichi. Operated by Osaka Metro since the privatisation of the municipal transport bureau on 1 April 2018, the station carries the line code T12 and consists of a single underground island platform fenced with platform-edge gates, the latter put into service on 28 October 2025.

Notes

Although Moriguchi has a destination indicator showing the city name, no scheduled passenger trains have actually terminated at the station since it ceased being the Tanimachi Line's terminus in 1983.
