History

Taishibashi-Imaichi Station opened on 6 April 1977 with the Osaka Municipal Subway Tanimachi Line's extension from Miyakojima to Moriguchi, sited beneath the boundary between Asahi-ku in Osaka and the city of Moriguchi, Osaka Prefecture. It became a transfer station on 24 December 2006 with the opening of the Imazatosuji Line directly below it, and an east ticket gate was added on the day. The whole station passed from the city transport bureau to Osaka Metro on 1 April 2018, and platform-edge gates were added to the Tanimachi Line platform on 16 October 2025. Station numbers are T13 (Tanimachi) and I14 (Imazatosuji); the Imazatosuji platform sits 25.9 metres below ground level, the third-deepest in the Osaka Metro network.

Notes

Despite being addressed in Osaka's Asahi-ku, most of the station's infrastructure - the entire Imazatosuji Line platform and concourse east of the west ticket gate - lies across the border in Moriguchi, making it the only Osaka Metro station that straddles a municipal boundary.
