History
Shimizu Station opened on 24 December 2006 as a stop on the newly built Osaka Municipal Subway Imazatosuji Line in Asahi-ku, Osaka, with the station name formally fixed on 10 July 2006. Operation passed to Osaka Metro on 1 April 2018 when Osaka Municipal Transportation Bureau was privatised. The station, designated I15, has a single underground island platform between two tracks, with platform gates, and acts as a crew-changeover point for the Imazatosuji Line. Sidings to the south connect to Tsurumi-ryokuchi-kita Depot, and a portion of services start or terminate here.
