History
Daiichidōri Station opened on 1 December 1985 as a new commuter station in downtown Hamamatsu, Shizuoka, on the Enshū Railway Line. The station was added when the line was elevated through the city centre, with its working name during planning being Tamachi Station. It stands 0.5 kilometres from the line's starting point at Shin-Hamamatsu and is a viaduct station with a single elevated side platform, staffed during daylight hours. The station building has automated ticket machines and turnstiles compatible with both the NicePass smart card and the older ET Card magnetic ticketing system.
