History

JR-Noe Station opened on 16 March 2019 with the completion of JR West's Osaka Higashi Line through-running to Shin-Ōsaka, taking station number JR-F06. The "JR" prefix was confirmed on 24 July 2018 to distinguish it from Keihan Electric Railway's nearby Noe Station, only some 200 m away. The two elevated side platforms accommodate eight-car trains, with one elevator per platform and two escalators in each direction. From the 14 March 2026 timetable change the station becomes a stop for the direct-rapid (chokutsū kaisoku) service, having been served only by local trains since opening.

Notes

The station's design concept references Enami sarugaku, a medieval form of comedic theatre with roots in the surrounding Joto district.
